WSCUC Led Session: Open Meeting on WSCUC Standards and Criteria for Review
WSCUC Commissioners and staff invite you to an open meeting to discuss the Standards and CFRs. We are interested in your comments about whether changes or revisions are warranted, and if so what changes you recommend.
WSCUC reviews its Standards, Criteria for Review, and accreditation process periodically to ensure that they reflect contemporary expectations for institutional effectiveness, and are clear and useful in supporting the evaluation of the quality of students’ educational experiences and the governance, capacities, and health of institutions in our region. Your ideas and feedback are essential as we initiate the process of determining the extent to which the current Standards and CFRs do that successfully, or need to be revised to address opportunities or gaps in our approach to accreditation. The scope and time frame for review will be determined in large part by members’ comments, here at ARC and through other avenues.
Note: A major revision of the WSCUC Standards and processes took place in 2001. This was followed in 2008 by a more modest revision, and in 2013 by another major revision, reflected now in the Handbook on Accreditation 2013.
This meeting will be convened by WSCUC Commission Chair Reed Dasenbrock and the Commission.
